The Road to self publishing
Getting published is what this site was supposed to be about when it was first set up. However, like so many well intentioned endeavors, this one got a little off track. Since I knew NOTHING about setting up websites, and since I knew nothing about attracting visitors, I set out to make it all-things-to-all-people and ended up making it not-much-to-a-few-people. By trying to make it do lots of ‘neat’ things, I managed to make it do a few ‘clumsy’ things instead. In fact, it was such a disappointment that, I got disgusted and left it sitting there, non-functional and useless, for a very long time. I still know nothing about websites, but I do know what this was supposed to be about, and I am now going to attempt to get it aimed back in that direction.
The Patriotic theme was intentional, but it was not supposed to dominate as it ended up doing. Concurrently, the Christian bias was also intentional, but once again, it was not supposed to ‘limit’ the focus, or to suggest that this was somehow the only subject to be dealt with. The theme is publishing. To that end, I will deal with any written subject that is not Anti-American, or Anti-Christian.
Ideally, we will share ideas and information about getting published, about writing, and about all the pot holes in the road to getting there. In addition, I am hoping that we will end up branching out into the subjects of much of that writing. I will for example, print excerpts from my own writing, and even from the writings of other members. (You get a free advertising platform. That’s got to be worth something.)
We have had problems with the contact options in the past, but are hoping that they might be working now. Give them a try but, if you don’t hear back, please understand that it is not for lack of interest. Thanks.
